Corneal Ulcer Caused by Nocardia asteroides in a
Patient with Leprosy
Department of Microbiology and Department
of Ophthalmology, Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College and
Hospital, Sion, Mumbai 400 022, India
Volume 36, no. 4, p. 1154-1156, 1998. We inadvertently failed to
cite the following previously published report: M. Shrinivasan and S. Sharma. 1987. Nocardia asteroides as a cause of corneal ulcer. Arch. Ophthalmol. 105:464. It appears that ours was
not the first reported case of nocardial keratitis in Southeast Asia.
However, neither in the reports cited in our article nor in the article
by Shrinivasan and Sharma cited above was leprosy a probable
predisposing factor.
