Tonsils and adenoids of 44 children were analyzed for detection of respiratory syncytial virus, influenzavirus, parainfluenzavirus, adenovirus, Chlamydophila pneumoniae and Mycoplasma pneumoniae.
Viruses were detected in 47.7% of children and in 37.3 % of specimens, being adenovirus and parainfluenza viruses the most frequently detected microorganisms.
