↵a Abbreviations: US, United States; DK, Denmark. Significance: among U.S. groups, CD versus controls, P = 0.07; OR = 7.29 (0.84–63.38); UC versus controls, P = 0.04; OR = 8.87 (1.05–74.99); IBD versus controls, P = 0.03; OR = 8.11 (1.01–65.16); among Denmark groups, no significant differences; among U.S. and Denmark combined groups, CD versus controls, P = 0.06; OR = 3.52 (0.96–12.86); UC versus controls, P = 0.01; OR = 5.33 (1.45–19.59); IBD versus controls, P = 0.02; OR = 4.27 (1.24–14.67). Fisher's exact test, two sided, was used (95% confidence interval). The number tested was less than total number in study for some groups due to failure to acquire samples. The positive rates by group, shown as number positive/total number (percent), are 15/79 (19.0), 16/61 (26.2), and 3/48 (6.3) for CD, UC, and control groups, respectively. The positive rate overall for all IBD patients (CD plus UC) was 31 positive of 140 total (22.1%).
